Doppelgangster

Hi, friends! I hope your week has gone brilliantly and you are looking forward to the weekend as much as I am! I’m heading to Athens on Friday evening, and I cannot wait for a little getaway.

So, there is something I’ve tried and tried to resist. I’ve admitted my acceptance of it only once or twice, but only now am I truly embracing it. Sometimes resemblances are so uncanny that they must be laughed at and embraced.

Ladies and gents, Taylor Swift is up in this hizzouse.

It was pretty bad.

That picture cracks me up. Like, what am I looking at? Nothing. The wall just past the john in the bathroom.

I like to call myself a doppelgangster. This is an upgraded version of the word “doppelganger” that simply means that just because you might look like someone else, doesn’t mean you are any less. I feel as though being compared to someone (“Oh, you look exactly like my cousin!”) lessens one’s own specialness. You’re probably a baller no matter what, so the next time someone says, “Hey! You look like Pauly Shore!” (I hope no one compares you to him), put on some stunna shades and call yourself a doppelgangster. Makes me feel better.

And I’m sure it makes MattyRich feel better when I insist on calling him Dan Humphrey:

Single.

Despite Thursday morning’s breakfast looking and tasting exactly like Wednesday’s, it was still (doppel)gangster.

Word.

In the bowl: 1/3 C oats, ~1/2 C almond milk, 1/2 banana, scoop peanut flour, sprinkle of stevia, dash of cinnamons, drops of dried cherries and a drizz of peanut butter.

Outstanding.

I have had this every morning this week. I’m sure I’ll eat it Friday morning, too. If it ain’t broke…

What I’m finding about work is that I love group meetings. Creative people bouncing ideas off each other and eventually creating an amazing end product? I just love it.

You know what I don’t love? When you have your heart set on, say, eating the last bagel for lunch only to find that someone else has eaten it. This is another thing to which one must grow accustomed when she no longer lives alone. I forgive my carb-loving family. My mustard-hummus-pickle sandwich was rather delicious anyway.

Pretty.

This sandwich included my favorite food groups: bread (a league of its own), pickles (the “I’m not into veggies right now” food group), hummus (the “delicious” food group) and condiments (the “not that necessary, thereby totally necessary” food group).

Logical.

I twerked it out for the rest of Thursday afternoon and evening. Looks like I’ll be trying my hand at some PR stuff, too, which is exciting! (I’m hoping I’ll be able to go into what I’m doing if the company decides to keep me!)

I got home after 6pm. Skipped the gym in lieu of a mug of cereal and blog reading. I still need to pack, paint my nails and watch Wednesday’s Modern Family. Yes, these are all on a “need-to-do” basis.

Dinner was exquisite! MamaJ made a tasty potato-leek soup for me, as my tum is still funky from the flu.

I tried to spruce up the brown with some green. Meh.

And with that, I’m outta hurr! Have a FABULOUS Friday!
