“You only live once: that’s the motto [DIVAS], YOLO;
And we ’bout it every day, every day, every day…”

These infectious lyrics by the one and only Drake epitomize my weekend. Imagine being around your absolute best friends but only having two days. After those two days, it’s back to separate cities, drastically less laughter and surviving on email chains alone. So when you’re together, it’s as if these days have more weight than others. “You only live once,” supports any and every whim.

This weekend was perfect. It was everything I ever could have wanted and more.

Chillin’ outside Gaga’s apartment with Alyssa, picture taken by Brooke! Coffees at Clinton Street Baking Company & Restaurant as we waited for the rest of our brunch. The best pancakes of my LIFE. Perfectly fluffy yet dense, bursts of blueberries, slightly crunchy exterior. Seriously. I want them again and again. I ate all of it but one sad, lonely bite. The bus boy (man? he was definitely older than 18) took my plate too soon, but I felt too bad to ask for it back. I mean, one bite?

[Enter hours of shopping and finding the perfect French Connection LBD.]Treated ourselves to manicures.Recharged our batteries at Muffin’s. We played with her cat, Fin, who has gangsta tendencies.Doritos and hose. I waited for a subway, hose-less but happy to be with my number one love.My girl.Dinner at Essex, wonderfully chosen by Lauryn.Girls, girls, girls, girls I do adore. (Sorry for the horribly dark picture Brooke, Alyssa and Lauryn!)You light up my life…and I love the power of a flash.Endive salad with crispy goat cheese.Potato pancake with more goat cheese. I always forget how small NY portions are compared to Ohio portions. It’s laughable. Blood orange mojito followed by Riesling…followed by Riesling…followed by Riesling…followed by this:Beyonce-ing out.

There is nothing like your closest girlfriends and your BFF to bring out the best in you. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so free, young and resplendent. I miss them already.

Ciao for now,

Kailey

Question: When was the last time you had a girls-only weekend? How was it!

On break, I got to see my oldest and most love girlfriends, but now that I’m back at da CUSE it’s all about my homegirls. You and Alyssa, gorgeous as always!

What a blasty! You’re so right…there is nothing like breaking it down on the flo’ with your girls. Not. A. Thing.

About a month ago, my girls and I went out dancing and wine-ing (that’s a verb, right?). We found a real life Chuy. Enough said. Arriba!

What a beautiful weekend! There is nothing like good, quality girl time. Shopping, pampering, eating…sounds perfect to me!

It’s been way too long since I’ve had a girl’s weekend. I’m due to plan one! And after reading this post, I’m definitely inspired. <3

I want those pancakes in my face. Now.

I haven’t had a legit girls-only weekend with my best friends in over a year. How depressing is that? The closest we got was before my best friend’s wedding. We sat in bed, drinking mimosas, eating Nutella out of the jar, and laughing our asses off for most of the day. It was heaven.

Clinton St Bakery is my favorite breakfast spot pretty much anywhere. For real. I would drive two hours right now to eat those pancakes if I didn’t have to go to work…

Hahahaha in high school yolo was like the cool catchphrase du jour. I loved when Drake put it in a song recently. Brought back memories.

I haven’t had a girl’s weekend in far too long! There have been some good girls’ nights, but I’m in need of some shopping/drinking/eating my heart out for a few days. Perhaps if I come out of hibernation it could happen…

That looks like a perfect NYC day! Clinton St Bakery is great but I can’t stand the crowds on freezing cold mornings. Maybe for the pancakes… ;)

Ummm way too long.

I realize it’s hard to find girl friends that aren’t crazy party girls but still like to go out.

You looked adorable the entire weekend. How Fun!
