Themes

Heyo! I missed you guys. But I am thisclose to falling asleep. Why?

The theme of the work week: meetings.

(But seriously.) Source

The theme of my eats: salad, protein, protein cake things, cheese, cottage cheese, cheese on cheese on cheese. (Kidding.)

The theme of my social life: nonexistent. At least for this week and next.

The theme of my after-hours activities: gym.

The theme of my emails: see above three themes.

The theme in my head: I’m tired.

I was a few seconds away from a nervous breakdown today. After work (I left at 5:15 p.m., which already makes me feel guilty— it’s too early), I drove across town to a 6 p.m. appointment. As soon as I parked the car and turned it off, POOF! Something under the hood released a pop of sound and loads of steam. I’m not good in these situations. Not at all. I called DM. I called my dad. I went to my appointment. I swapped cars with Popsicle afterward. (THANK YOU!)

I drove to the gym. Changed into clothes that had been sitting in the freezing cold all day. Had a major sourpuss on. Then I planted myself on an elliptical with beach-themed magazines (read: old), Wale, Big Sean and Waka Flocka. And within minutes, everything was OK. Exercise therapy + music therapy = the ultimate.

I didn’t get home until 9. Finished dinner at 9:35. Watched American Idol. Showered. And then, I headed to bed to start this insanity all over again. Who else feels as though they’re after-work schedule is like an entirely separate day (or should be)?

Is it the weekend yet?

Ciao for now,

Kailey

Question: What are some themes of your week thus far?

Seriously — not enough time in the day, too much time doing things that don’t always make us happy // give us free time. Like running out of gas.

That’s the whole reason why I make myself workout in the morning. I get SO stressed out when I have to do a bunch of stuff after work (besides sit on my couch and eat). But I totally admire people that can do it!

You are such an inspiration! Even though I KNOW exercise will help me after a stressful day, it’s sooo easy to just grab a glass of vino instead.

Themes of my week: Sleepy & BUSY. I have every minute of today planned and while I’m looking forward to it all, I hope I’m not too stressed to enjoy it.

Good luck w/ your Thursday & Friday! :)

That’s pretty much how I felt yesterday (minus the car issues. Oy). On Wednesdays, I teach from 6:45-3:00, stop at home for a hot minute, and then drive 45 minutes to grad class—from 5-9:30. By the time I get home, I feel like I’ve worked two days instead of one. Needless to say, on Thursdays, I am a zombie.

Hope today gets better!

Girl, it sounds like you need some Kailey Time. And your favorite large adult beverage. Can you take 5 minutes during the day to just breathe and re-center your fabulous self? I keep a bottle of hand lotion at my desk for when things get nuts. I push away from my desk and massage my hands (which takes the ache out of typing/writing all day), stand up, and stretch it out for 2 minutes. I swear it helps. This week’s theme has been heartache, but I’m dealing. Gotta take it one day at a time, right? I can see Friday from here!

Girl, I totally understand. Westernization in general has programmed us to be robots. Exhausted robots! You are SO not alone. It’s my last semester (wheee!) and pulling 12 hour days is no joke. Stay strong and positive! Things will piece together as they always do. <3

This week’s theme is definitely – uninspired and sleepy.

Here’s to hoping next week has a little more zest!

Frustration – both with work (crazy here too), my gym being super crowded, and my spin shoe clip breaking off during class this morning. Deep breathing and extra Starbucks are getting me through the morning!

Soreness! Sore arms from a beast workout on Monday, sore head from basically not sleeping at all last night, sore bum from a hardcore football game last night…

I 100% agree with you on the seperate day! Once I get home it’s gym time, errand time, dinner time, then getting everything organized to do it all over again the next day! Never enough time, but we get through it, don’t we?

The theme of my week? Tired. Swamped. Crazed. Pheeww.

Exercise and music are definitely the best types of therapy!

Theme of my week? Graduate school applications, research, work out, family, repeat. Not too bad.

That is an excellent way to describe it– that after work is like a whole other day! I feel like with my commute and then all my after hours activities, there just isn’t enough time in the day! Consequently, the gym and grocery shopping have basically fallen off the map as of late. It’s been a lot of fun- theme: cocktails and shopping events every night but I am so exhausted too!

themes of my week: work days that are over and i still have a ton of work to do. i’m dreaming of cell culture…sad but true. it felt like friday today. another theme is my angry belly. stress makes it very unhappy but a trip to the spa this weekend should cure that problem!

I totally and completely agree. I feel like I LIVE at work… I think I seriously see my co-workers more than my friends and family.. combined. There is something wrong with this picture.

Aw, I can definitely relate.
This week has been especially hectic. It seems like it’s been one thing after another…But, tomorrow is a new day! And the weekend is in sight. Try to stay positive. (:

Themes of my week; oversleeping, easy snacks>elaborate meals, to-do lists, and soreness.
Wow, I only listed the negatives…I swear my week hasn’t been ALL bad!

I had a similar, exhausting week… Theme of my week: grading. It was the end of the second quarter and I was consumed with meetings, grading, writing reports, and filing old work…
Theme of my after-school life: late. I was stuck at school working late, I was late getting home to take the pup out for a walk, I had late workouts, and dinners were eaten late…
Theme of my meals: simple, non-cook, and lazy!

TGIF to the maximus :D
